plant ID Mobile App
As part of the Google Professional Certificate Program, I built a set of mockups for a mobile application aimed at helping budding plant owners and enthusiasts identify, care for, and share their plants.

Project overview
01
Pain Points
During user research, I performed a survey of five plant owners and nature hobbyists. I also looked at reviews of direct and indirect competitor applications and websites. I noted down patterns of common user pain points.

02
User Persona Creation
In order to further understand potential users, I created two different user personas. These personas aided in the creation of a user journey map and think through the prevention of pain points that were found in user research.
03
Wireframes and Low Fidelity Prototype
I created a low fidelity prototype using Figma. I made the app interactive so that it could be operated by potential users during the user research phase.

04
Review User Feedback
Users indicated they would prefer a more specific home page, more ways to view flora and fauna in a specific geographic location, the app should have more ways to be personalized to the user, and the icons weren't clear.
05
First HiFi MockUp
In the first hifi mockup, more options and pages were added. The palette was made to resemble a field notebook that an earth scientist may use in the field and each page was made to show users a wide variety of options. However, friends with UX experience indicated that the pages often seemed overloaded, the palette was dark and would be better with more images, and the user flow wasn't very clear.

06
Second Hifi Mockup
In the second hifi mockup, the background was changed to white with graphic banners. There were instructions added to the camera and the user flow was changed a bit. The field notebook was split onto two pages. Most pages had significant changes in layouts.
